Yoh is hiring for a System Integration Engineer in San Diego. You will be involved in ensuring the robustness and reliability of our groundbreaking Hypercoding platform. You will participate in component and system-level design activities, integrate platform modules together, and define and execute test plans to make recommendations to technical teams. You will collaborate with our Biochemistry, Consumable, Software, Hardware, and Analysis teams to deliver a best-in-class product to our commercial partners.

Position Title - System Integration Engineer
Pay Rate -$35 - 60/hr depends on level and experience
Duration - project will be to help cover maternity leave with the opportunity to convert in April. Candidates must be able to start by late November.
Location - San Diego

To be successful in this role you have:

    • Generate deep component and system-level knowledge of our instrument platform through extensive evaluation and testing
    • Execute on integration and testing activities of our prototypes and pre-commercialization instruments including mechanical, electrical, thermal, and fluidic subsystems
    • Design and execute experiments and tests to evaluate instrument and workflow performance, explore critical parameters and assess their sensitivity, identify failure modes, interpret results to iteratively improve performance and robustness in a hands-on capacity
    • Create and maintain records for all testing activities such as generating parameter databases and performance and failure trackers
    • Support and troubleshoot instrument prototypes to enable internal R&D activities
    • With input from other technical teams, coordinate testing activities, inform on processes and practices to improve performance and reduce issues
    • Perform data analysis of complex, image-based assays
    • Present results to team members and leadership
    • Make results-based recommendations for design improvements, instrument reliability, and user experience.
    • To be successful in this role you have:
      • Experience troubleshooting complex systems and in-depth technical investigations
      • Engineering and/ or Scientific background with experience in the development and integration of complex diagnostic tools
      • Experience in creating visual and other quantitative tools to track system performance and failure modes. Proficiency with computer programming and scripting is a plus.
      • Knowledge of issue tracking tools such as Jira and experience in the creation and maintenance of instrument run databases
      • Great attention to detail, spirit of collaboration and positive attitude when dealing with intricate problems in pressing timelines
      • Experience in the biotechnology, life sciences lab equipment, medical device, or semiconductor space

Qualifications:
  • B.Sc., Master's, or equivalent degrees in an engineering, chemistry, biochemistry, physics, or other related technical field plus a minimum of 2-3 years industry experience.
Note: Flexibility on title, responsibility and compensation commensurate with qualifications and industry experience.



Estimated Min Rate: $35.00
Estimated Max Rate: $60.00
